Cake help

Hey Girls~!
I have a cake tragedy. When DH and i came back home from 'our first night' spent at a hotel i found out that my family had eaten the top layer of our wedding cake! Apparently my Korean family didn't know about the 1-year tradition so they all had a cup of coffee and a piece of THE cake the morning after! I was sOoO upset and fuming! They, on the other hand, (although they felt really bad) thought it was hilarious! They all swore they would buy us a 'replacement' cake for our 1 year anniversary. Now as the day is getting closer i need to know where i can buy a nice, tasty cake for us to have for our anniversary. I don't want to go into any bakery and just buy a cake. It's bad enough that DH and i barely got to taste the wedding cake. (We had 1 small bite - and that's luckily because of picture sake).

Do you know anymore i would be able to get a cake for a decent price? I know some places charge a hefty amount to get a 'recreation' of the wedding cake. Please help!

Re: Cake help

how about going back to the bakery that made your cake and asking them to make a 9 in round or something with the same fillings from your day??

My rh supplied us with the cake but for the groom's cake I ordered I used CAKES BY MONA . I shopped around a lot and found she had the best prices. She was easy to work with and the cake was delicious.

Sorry your family ate your cake that seems like something you would only see in a movie

I know its not funny to you but it kind of is funny-shows the clash of cultures that so many of us have to deal with at times.

That said, lets try and fix it

Hmm do you want to buy a large cake? I mean wedding cakes are pricey. How about just ordering a cake from a bakery that has the same type of filling and cake itself. I wouldnt bother with fondant just for the look.

We have our cake but Im skeeved out because its been frozen and Im weird like that. I wanted to just order a nice cake with butetrcream icing so we will probably do that from one of my 2 fave bakeries; either the ButterCOoky in Long Island or Calandra in Fairfield by us.

Just going to order a plain vanilla cake with fresh napolean filling, berries and strawberries like our wedding cake was supposed to be. Icing will be buttercream.
