Can children be baptized if one parent is not Catholic?

Can children be baptized if one parent is not Catholic?

Sorry to crash here, newlyweds! (Congrats to you all! :) ) But, I thought some of you might be able to answer this...

Having been raised in a very Catholic family, I know this question probably sounds ridiculous to some of you...but here it goes:

Do both parents need to be Catholic in order for the children to be baptized?

FH is okay with me having our future children baptized. However, he does not belong to any particular religion, and he does not wish to do so.

Your children can be baptized as long as one parent is Catholic.

Yes, I was. My dad is Jewish (as is my godfather!).

My home parish wouldn't allow it so my parents had to find a parish that would.

Yes - I'm Catholic. My dad is Catholic, my mom is Protestant.

Yup- both my boys are baptized catholic... i am greek orthodox...

i am not catholic, DH is. and Maddy was baptized in a catholic church.

i have the EXACT same situation with DH. from what i hear, as long as you can find a parish that will do it then you are fine. some are stricter than others

Indeed - St. Ignatius in Long Beach is where I was baptized (with my Jewish dad and my Jewish godfather. True story!).
