Can somebody tell me what is wrong with the DMV??? UPDATE

They sent my license with my married name and my maiden signature!!! Are you f-ing kidding me? Now I have to go back there and wait for another 2 hours? AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA I'm Back! They were shocked! Apparently when I came the first time, they didn't have me take a new pic or fill out a signature card which is where the mix up happened!

Not to be an assss but that card they gave you-the signature card you are supposed to sign your new name, if you signed your maiden name that is why you got your DL with your maiden name signature.

That mess up cant actually be the DMV, its the signature card, unless you signed that card with your maiden name they dont keep your signature 'on file' so to speak, its on file but they can not reproduce it on your DL if you get a new one.

if you are in suffolk county, go to the DMV in hauppauge... i waited for all of 10 minutes when i went to get a new license

Thanks girls! Happauge is where I went for my new license. It took me 2 hours last time I went, but I'm going to try again today.

The DMV I went for the original license does it electronically so they keep it in the computer, along with my original picture. The signature is EXACTLY the same.

Also, when I was getting my new license, as I was signing, I was talking about how strange it is to sign my married name. The clerk also checked me to make sure.

I just hope it's quick.

I thought that too! It is a really strange set up and i couldn't figure what letter was for what! I guess it's not for me to know!

UGH DMV is terrible. I think its hillarious when Dane Cook talks about it . He calls it S a t a n's A$$hole

Yes they keep a copy of your original (or latest) license in the computer but this is not what is used to print your current license. A friend of mine works at the DMV, I had an issue with the paperwork and he had to remind me 'sign your NEW name otherwise....' all the paperwork and files you go in there with get sent somewhere else to be printed they dont get done on premises.

But whatever, good luck hope you are in and out
