how I go about changing my name? I'm guessing I need to take a day off of work, and hit social security, and the dmv, but what else? And is there a specific order I need to do it in? What do I bring with me?

If your name was changed in your marriage certificate then:
Bring marriage certificate to social security, dmv etc and you just have to fill out forms. I am making it sound easy and it really is- the problem is that you might have to wait in certain places.

Depending on how close SS and DMV is to your job you might be able to do it on lunch break...took me less than an hour to do both, but I downloaded the forms and filled them out before I went.

Also FYI they will retake your pic for your Driver's Licence...I was completly not prepared for this and went looking tore up! (Hair in poney tail, glasses, no make up, the whole nine yards). The guy looked at me and said wow nice picture on ur license!! I asked him can't we just keep that and he said no
