Can you help me with this? (sorry to bother you all)

I'm sorry to bother you all over here but you all are the only ones who can answer this question.

We are thinking of changing our reception time - and I was wondering if you could tell me those who had a saturday night wedding.

What time your wedding ended?

Did you go into overtime? - We are wondering if we will need to keep the band for extra time.

And did most people stay until the end?

We had a saturday night wedding.

We were hoping and willing to pay for an extra hour but I think (well in my situation anyway) once people know what time it will be over (ours was 8-12) they tend to plan around that and get going anyway.

Most stayed either till the very end or left right after the cake..there was nothing in the middle.

If it looks like your crowd doesnt want to leave..then go for it..get the extra hour. But I wouldnt spend the money if it were only for a handful of guests.

We had an extended cocktail hr, and but the entire affair was 5 hrs - everyone left on right at the end.

Well right now we are having a 4 hour reception and we extended the cocktail to 1 1/2 hrs - so it wil be 5 1/2hrs - but the club told us sometimes if it ends at 11 or 12 it takes about another 1/2 for the guests to leave - so we are trying to figure out if it is likely to go later we will make the reception a little earlier.

We had a Saturday night reception that ended at 12:30. As always, there are some people that leave right after the cake cutting and there were people that stayed right until the end. It took 30 minutes or more after the end for us and the remaining guests to say our goodbyes and take a few last photos, etc.. During that time the band was breaking down and the waitstaff was cleaning up. We were not charged for that.

I had a Saturday night wedding that ended at 11pm and some people left a little bit early and the rest right on time!

I don't know if my wedding applies, but we had an extended reception until 2am...but that's pretty standard in Italy and pretty much everyone stayed until the end....

The difference was that was what the band expected, and were paid for....to play until 2am.

We had an 8 hour reception

(Ceremony was on the grounds of the Villa where we held the reception at 5:30pm....cocktail hour started immediately following at about 6/6:15pm, and then we closed up at about 2am.)

We had a Saturday night wedding.

My cocktail hour was 6:30-7:30 and my reception was 7:30-Midnight.

It ended at midnight. Some left after cake, and some left at midnight, then there were some that stayed & talked to us...We left around 12:40, we were not charged for it.

Thank you all!!! I will tell dad what you all wrote -I just don't want him to have to pay any more than he is - but we just weren't sure how late people are likely to stay on a Saturday night!

Mine was a Saturday afternoon - ended at 5:30.
The reception ended on time, but it took at least another half an hour before people fully cleared the room. Then the lobby was the hang out spot for a little bit.
I didn't leave until almost 7 pm

ETA: No added charge
