Hi all- Quick opinion question for those of you who have been to Cancun. Is it a good place for a first anniversary trip? We won't be going anywhere near spring break but I wanted to make sure it was a good 'adult' vacation. lol. Thoughts?

My hubby and I went last May for his b-day and we would definitely do it again. We are not big drinkers, I think the people who do enjoyed the bottomless drinks. Overall I like it there.

My FI and I went to Cancun last May and LOVED it. If you want to do things other than nightclubs I suggest HIGHLY doing XCARET. We also did a jet skiing tour with Water World and had dinner on an island with Prate Ship dinners. We took a day trip to Isla Mujeres and it was GORGEOUS. I could go on and on. They have some great snorkeling and diving at Chakanah Beach - not sure of the spelling but its a public park they also have dolphins you can swim with there. We were only there for a day as part of a cruise but we loved it.

It is one of my favorite vacations. I have been 5 times. Matt and I went last November. We atyed at the Moon Palace. All inclusive and very nice!!! Let me know if you want more info.

I swam with the dolphins there, and relaxed alot. the water is beautiful and there is some good shopping.

Hi!! My husband and I went to Cancun and stayed at the Royal Solaris. It was GREAT!!! The hotel(an all inclusive) was beautiful! It was so much fun. Always something to do.Things to participate in if you want --- or just to relax. We also did the nite thing . That was a blast. Senior Frogs was alot of fun. We also did the wave runner ride and went on the snorkling excursion. BEAUTIFUL coral and fish to see. We want to go back real soon and are trying to plan another trip. Let us know if you do go!!

I have been there 4 times. Only 1 time with my fiance. He thought it was beautiful and relaxing but he didnt love it as much as me. He doesnt drink and doesnt like to really ' hang out' in bars and Cancun is really a very big party place. He had fun waking up at 5am to go to the ruins..lol Depends really on what you guys like to do. I thnk there is something in cancun for everyone but in all the 4 times I have been there 90% of the place is under 30 and drunk.. lol

Ivebeen there twice - once with friends, once with DH. There is stuff to do for both types of trips but Cancun is definitely geared more for the younger drinking set.
Another spot in Mexico which is better suited for a couples get away is Puerta Vallarta.
