Cape Cod

My best friend and I decided to take a mini vacation to Cape Cod in August! I'm really excited because despite 14 years of being best friends we've never gone away together! Not sure how that happened.

Anyway, neither of us has actually BEEN to Cape Cod ... where should we stay? What should we do while there? Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Cape Cod

That's where we went on our honeymoon! Columbus Day weekend. We really had a nice relaxing weekend and stayed in Hyannis. You can catch the ferries there and go to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket very easily. We chose not to. Instead, we walked around the village and went into all of the little shops (stopped for ice cream, breakfast, etc.) We also played mini golf one night which was really nice. And we hit 4 or 5 Christmas Tree Shoppes while there!! We also ate at Hearth & Kettle. Yum yum yum!! I'd compare it to Cracker Barrel! The biggest thing we did though, was that we went whale watching! This had been a wish of mine to do forever and what better time to do it than on our honeymoon! We saw tons of humpback whales and it was a gorgeous day out on the water! We also went to a couple of beaches, but it was way too cold to go swimming at that time. It's a really great place for relaxing!

Have a wonderful time!

Re: Cape Cod

I spent a good part of my summers on the Cape. We would stay away from the Upper Cape (Hyanni, Dennis, Bourne, etc) because it can get very busy and the roads are packed. But there's a lot to do there. It's also a lot of fun to head to Wellfleet or all the way Provincetown.
