I used to go to the cape in the summer - a rented house for a week in denisport. It was AWESOME! I miss it. We'd mostly go to the beach!

DH and I went to Cape Cod in APril and LOVED LOVED LOVED it! there is so much to do. each twon has it's own feel. The Kennedy buff in me loved Hyannis and went to the JFK museum and stalked there house. We also stayed in a beautiful hotel on the main street in Falmouth.

Overall, Cape Cod has great beaches, great shopping and great seafood restaurants. i've never booked things for summer (i've only been in the spring or stayed at someone's private house in the summer) so i don't know how easy (or hard) it is, to find accommodations in the summer.

Also, you can take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard too from Cape Cod.

DH proposed to me on Cape Cod, at the Weequassitt Inn in Chatham.

We spent an extended weekend up there and loved it.
