Car Recommendations

My sister's car got totalled in an accident last week (she's fine) and she needs to get a new one. She liked the jetta but it only comes in a 5-cyclinder which is odd- can anyone recommend a similar sized car?

Re: Car Recommendations

if you check consumer reports, VW doesnt get the highest ratings from their customers, on a scale of 1-5 they usually get 2 or 3 from VW owners.

Around what price range? im gonna guess same range as a jetta right

what about an acura, the TL is a bit pricier i think but maybe another model.

Re: Car Recommendations

similarly pricing to the VW Jetta- we both had VWs for years and loved them- but the 5 cyclinder thing is not well rated.

Anyhow- pricing around 20-25,000. Also safety is important!

thanks!

Honda Civic or Accord
Toyota Corolla or Camry
Nissan Altima - I think this may be a little more but not really sure

These are all good cars...

I forgot Volvo S40 - I love those little cars. They are so cute

I had a VW jetta and I loved the car, but I had problems with it so I got rid of it. I'd like to get another myself but weary about the issues again.

Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Acura TSX are good starts.

I had a VW GTI loved driving it, but I have never had so many problems with a car in my life. Personally, I would never buy another VW

Now I have a Honda Accord and its been totally problem free and within the price range she's looking at. DH just bought a Scion TC and I love it.

I had an 08 honda civic EX l with nav, and I LOVED my car, it was cute and small and fit alot in it. I don't have it anymore though, cause I upgraded to an SUV for the baby, but I miss my civic! lol

ETA- my DH has an altima, and thats awesome too! but may be a little out of her price range, depends on what features I think she would want.

I had an 2002, and it was probably the worst year for it... Within 6 months of having it, it was in the shop for a recalled part which took them about a month to fix! I couldnt wait to get rid of that car!

My first car was an Acura and it was the best car ever! My parents wanted to get me a new car for my college graduation and for some reason I choose the Jetta cause it was cute.. Worst decison ever! After 4 years and the warranty was up, I sold it and bought my TSX.. LOOOVEE IT! DH has the RSX, and he loves it too! We are looking to get the MDX when the time comes to sell the TSX.
