Car Registration & Title....

My registration isn't due until 2006 but who should I let know that my name has changed. My license is changed so maybe they have changed it already? What do you think?

there are separate forms for license, title & registration. You have to let them know because if you get into and accident or get a ticket the names aren;t going to match up. Some cops will let it slide but some can be a pain and make your life a little he!!.

You might have to go in person but I am not sure.

If you go to the DMV website and noodle around in there you'll find the answer. I have it at home and I cannot remember the answer. I am going in person because I need to change my license so I'm kind of killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Not sure what the rule is if you already have a changed license.

Re: Car Registration & Title....

The day after I was legally married I changed my name at DMV.

It was the next week when I changed my name on my insurance that the insurance folks reminded me both my title and registration had to match my insurance which was matching my driver's license!

DMV never said a word

So i had to take another day, take in my title and get all that fixed (i didnt trust mailing in my original title.)
