career counselor?

Has anyone on here ever been to a career counselor? I really need to think about switching careers but am not sure exactly how to take my current skills and talents and move them into something else. .feel like I don't want a complete switch and thought someone might be able to help me explore other options out there. . has anyone ever been to one and had any experiences?
