Cause It was gone before i posted!!

Poof...........

I just wanted to say before it was deleted...

This reminds me of a bride a few weeks ago that said the Church I got married in was Ugly! I was so mad! She said it was her church and wanted to get married in a prettier church. My church is St. Josephs in Ronkonkoma, and I dont feel it is ugly. My pics came out great. My fee was $450.00. Some of these brides today really are nuts!! LOL. As beautiful as St. Patricks is and believe me I would have loved to get married there, but my parish was St. joes. I think sometimes brides forget the meaning of getting married in a church. Its not for the decorations or the cosmetic look of it! Sometimes i wonder if these girls are the same girls that would NEVER wear clothes from K-mart or wear shoes form payless because its not name brand....

This is whta i had responded to a poster. *** is there to say who is a good Catholic or not. These girls are ridiculous I swear.

But you calling people names and being judgmental is very Catholic. I love the irony.

And congrats on your parents paying for your 90K wedding. I would assume you will give a major donation to your church since your parents are covering the costs.

Moral of the story: the same way you dont like what some people wrote, we might not like what you wrote. End of story.

I don't know what happened about the drama and what was said, everyone has their own styles and taste in churches/receptions and they should not bash locations for the reason that other brides chose those locations because it's what makes them happy, but I also feel that one shouldn't judge a person because they pick a church based on how it looks.

I got married in St. Patrick because it was my dream as a little girl to get married there, as an 8 yr old I fell in love with the sight and said to myself
when I grow up I want to get married here.' I did receive all my sacraments from St. Rita's in Astoria because that was the church that was close to my house. Can I tell you who was the priest there...no...do I have any connections with that church except for my communion and confirmation? No. Would I have wanted to get married there? No.

Why would you love to get married there? Wouldn't you be choosing St. Pat's just on the fact alone that it is a beautiful church? I think majority of the women that get married there chose that church for other reasons, being that more likely than not, St. Pat's is not their parish. I chose St. Pat because it is beautiful. If I would not have gotten married in St. Pat it could have been anywhere else, because I believe our union would have been blessed no matter what, at the beach, in a park, at a reception, at another church, but I was lucky to be able to get married at my dream location. To me the meaning of marriage is the blessing of a higher being, to me that presences is anywhere there is love. I can only speak for myself, but I did not lose the meaning of marriage or our marriage being blessed just because of the location I chose.

P.S. Payless is my #1 shoe store...lol
I hope I didn't offend you or anyone, I just want to show the perspective of a bride who chose St. Patrick's over her home parish.

ETA: Just read Nelly's post: I totally agree with you, being judgmental and talking trash about other people especially base on what church one chose is not what “Good Catholics” would do.

No thats totally fine. The problem with this bride was, she was complaining about how much she had to pay to get married there and another bride was even talking about becoming a parishioner just to get a lower price. Like swindling the place basically saying they charge too much and insinuating churches are robbing people just to get married there.

wow; now that is completely wrong.

I didn't mind paying their price and it was not high compared to what ppl may think. I knew that their price was going to be much higher than other parishes just on the fact that its 'St. Patrick’s.' But that bride should understand that it is a very large church. Also, churches do not pocket the money they get, they have programs that they run to help other ppl. Maybe she is just young and naive....or just dumb.

Exactly. One of the girls said she sees her priest wearing Dolce & Gabbana glasses and how he made a vow of poverty so he shouldnt be spending the money they donated on things like that. It wa pretty ridiculous.
