Ceremony outtakes.

As fh and i were meeting with our officiants last night, i realized that i will either be a sobbing idiot or a giggling ball of white fluff...just when we were practicing and they were talking of us becoming husband and wife, i started giggling...i mean, i may be 26, but i feel 12! 12 is far too young to be married! anyway, did any of you ladies have moments during the ceremony that you are so embarrassed about now? did you curse? did you cry so hard no words left your mouth? did you giggle the whole time? please let me know that i am normal!

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I laughed and joked a lot during the rehearsal because it just felt weird and unnatural in a forced way. But the wedding day was totally different...we were all dressed and everyone was there happy for us ... the flowers, the music, etc.. its such a different feeling!

And even if you do laugh or whatever, you probably won't be embarassed by it b/c it will be a genuine feeling you had at the time and a good memory.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I said 'i do' way before the cantor asked me too...and when I had to say 'husband' I giggled and had the biggest smile on my face...our family and friends laughed and thought it was hysterical. Definitely brought some personality into the ceremony.

Other than that it was quite an emotional time for both of us!

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

my train was very long, and during the communion part of the service we had to go sit in the chairs in the alter. well, manuvering backward in my dress was challenging to say the least, and i kept stepping on my train and all the crystals kept popping. i was so suprised and startled by the sound i said 'everything is popping!' everyone laughed, but i felt like a nerd...oh well... you know i thought i would be a wreck during the ceremony as well, but i only almost lost it on the 'until we are parted by death' part. my mom said the whole church started crying then because i could hardly say it.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

When we were doing the rings as DH put it on my finger he said 'Guess there's no getting out of this now' (as a joke) and I said 'Honey, you're miked' .... it's all on the video ... pretty funny.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I was so excited, that when the priest told me to repeat after him, I jumbled everything into one word, came out somthing like 'lskheinlhshn ', was really funny....

For our rehearsal, they only had us practice walking in and out, and for the readers to know where to go, and all that stuff, we didnt go over the ceramony at all. Dont know if thats a common thing.

I do have to say, on our wedding day, as soon as those doors opened.....there was only one person in the room, everything else disolved away, it really is the best part of the whole day...congratulations!!!

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I was amazingly calm on the day of the wedding which was really weird. It really hadn't hit me that this was IT - I was finally getting married.

I thought I'd be a babbling, bawling mess during the ceremony but I wasn't. I also had pictured myself tripping on my dress or getting too close to the unity candle and having my veil go up in flames. Luckily, everything went ok though! I didn't have any problems until I had to recite my vows - I got choked up there, but that was it. Everything else went pretty smoothly.

One of my readers, who's a good friend of mine, burst into tears though during her reading! It was actually pretty funny

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

My husband and I wrote our ceremony. We had heard all of it except each others vows. I said my vows first and was surprised that I managed to actually get out all the words. We both held our vows( I was going to try just from memory, but I was just too nervous and emotional). Well, my DH in his vows said 'From our two lives will come not a single life, but a third life that we both will share.' It is a really beautiful line except he took a pause after 'but a third life'. I had my hand over my stomach at the time and looked down and then looked at our guests and shook my head no. Hey, you can't give an actor too long of a pause. Everyone laughed and we heard all night how much everyone liked the pregnancy joke.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

When I was standing there with my dad I was giggling and crying b/c i was very excited. When we were saying our vows I was ok till I saw Chris get teary eyed then i started to cry as he was saying his vows and then he started to cry. I was crying through my vows. Durning the readings we were giggling b/c his sister had some problems reading it durning the rehersal. The ceremony is so emotional and I wouldnt hold back any tears. I was so worried walking down the isle but i only saw Chris at the end and I felt like nobody was in the church but us and the priest.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

Oh yes.

During the mass, after our 'nuptials' the whole congregation (except DH and I) had to give us a blessing and the priest asked them to raise their right hands to bless us. And then the priest proceeded to give THE longest blessing I've ever heard. DH's side never saw this done at a wedding and they all looked around like 'who, us?' and other people's arms were starting to lower out of muscle aches...I just busted out laughing when my BM started making faces and shaking her arm.

It came out sounding like a sneeze and I covered my mouth like it was one and most people thought it was a sneeze (except my BM's who know me better).

I'm hoping it was cut out of the video.

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I was SO emotional during our ceremony! I didn't really laugh or cry so much, but during our vows was when it really hit me! Craig and I both wrote personal 'promises' that we read to each other prior to lighting our unity candle - and they were a total surprise until that day. I am a poet at heart, so my promises to him were extremely sentimental and heavy on the love factor! :) Well, I tried practicing reading it out loud while I was home, just to try and see how bad it would be, and I was hysterically crying after the first run through!! So needless to say, the day of the wedding I was trying SO hard not to cry that I just sped right through my promises! The video is so funny too, because you hear my voice catch about five times, and I sound like someone was pressing fast forward the whole time :) On top of that - our ENTIRE bridal party was crying, as well as half of the guests, so I had stereo sniffling the whole time too!

It truly is a wonderful day though, and it's okay if you laugh or cry - it's expected! :) It will be just beautiful, and don't worry about your emotions showing - this will be the happiest day of your life! :)

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

We did really well through the entire ceremony.

However, we recited our vows from memory since we wrote them, and I stumbled a bit on mine. Also when he put the ring on my finger he said 'take this as a sign of my love and affection' instead of 'love and fidelity'.
He jokes that because he didn't say it, he's out of the fidelity part!

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

OMG.. reading this I just remembered that my hunnie was mic'ed... now I can't wait for the video... we were talking the whole time.
but... I was pretty calm through out the whole service. We got to the church and my little sister got her 'monthly friend' all over the back of her light blue dress! so i started stressing.. not to mention that right before we left the house to go to the church, my dog peed on the photographers bag! HA.. I can laugh now but I was a sobbing mess when he first did it... and then there was the person on HIS side that cell phone went off... we weren't happy about that.
but my favorite memory from the church was that we lit the unity candle, turned around, walk down, looked at the candle to 'reflect' on us becoming one flame and it went out! LOL.... i thought it would've made me really upset.. I'm into omens and all that... but the priest had no idea... so we were trying to get his attention and he was just singing along to the hymn in his own world... but finally he saw it and told us to do it again... LOL...

you'll be fine and your day will be perfect!
Best Of Luck!

Re: Ceremony outtakes.

I laughed hysterically for 2 long, wheezing minutes as soon as I said, 'I take you for my husband..' People were totally laughing and it really lightened the mood after that.don't worry about it - any display of emotion is a good thing for a wedding!

As soon as our dogs arrived at the ceremony site, one of them pooped ... TWICE! Luckily it was before I arrived!!!
