changing last names

I have been married 12 days and now im wondering how to change my name. the church has the license. I don't know if i call to see if they mailed it or if someone sends me something. And then what comes next??

They send you your marriage certificate from the church, and you also get one from the county. You then proceed to DMV, SS, etc. It's such a great feeling to get it!!

The Church sends the signed and approved license to the state, and then the state mails you an official marraige license.

After that, go to SS Office first to get your name changed.

Once you get your license you can go to DMV or SS first in any order it doesn't matter. I never even had copies just showed them the original also told them that. If they need a copy they did it themselves. Very easy process

I did. I went to DMV first and then SS a couple of days later in fact last Friday and received my new SS card today in the mail. After those two were done I went to the bank and then called the credit card companies.
