Chicago girls

I seem to remember that there were a few girls on here who live in Chicago. DH is thinking about trying for a promotion that would require us to move there. My question to those who live there now is, how do you like living there? Can you suggest areas we should look into for nice, reasonable apartments? I want to do a little research before we make our decision about if we really want it. We have extremely mixed feelings about moving away.
