I have made this before but I forget what I used to make the flakes 'stick'
milk? butter? water? salad dressing?
any good ideas?

Re: chicken and potato flakes
I am not to sure about this, but for the flakes to stick to the potato? If so I use an egg when I make breaded chicken cutlets.

Blame it on the spreadsheets but I dont get it =0( Ohhhhh lmao I just read what I typed (and this is why you should re-read before hitting the Post button) yeah that's what I meant. Once the chicken is seasoned, whip an egg and pour it over the chicken. Then it will be slimy and the potato flakes will stick easily. I am an arse for what I typed

i usually dip whatever I'm breading in egg first. I also usually put a drop of milk in the egg.

I think this was the recipe I used but it was awhile ago so I don't remember exactly
INGREDIENTS
* 2 cups instant mashed potato flakes * 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese * 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes * 1 tablespoon paprika * 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt * 3/4 teaspoon onion powder * 1/2 teaspoon pepper * 3 (3 pound) broiler/fryer chickens, cut up and skin removed * 1 cup butter or margarine, melted
DIRECTIONS
1. In a bowl, combine the potato flakes, Parmesan cheese, parsley, paprika, garlic salt, onion powder and pepper. Dip chicken into butter, then into potato flake mixture. Place on two greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pans. Bake at 375 degrees F for 50-60 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.
