I'm running to a bridal show with a friend who got engaged the week after our wedding, so I want to get this up before I leave! I'm excited to help her!
So it's Sunday... our favorite 'rest' day...
I'll start with a simple question of differences about married habits...
Do you like to sleep in on the weekends? Does your DH?
Did you know before you got married that you were the same / different when it comes to your 'sleep in' habits?
I'll come answer later... the show's over at 4 (we may not stay the whole time lol... and we'll see if DH has gotten out of bed yet.

We 'sleep in' with regard to how early we get up during the week, but we are now finding it increasingly difficult to sleep as late as we used to. Case in point, we were up around 9:00 both yesterday and today and were amazed at how 'late' we slept ...
Of course, we've been sitting here on the couch since waking up so it's sort of like a continuation of being in bed, right?

I knew before we were married that we were totally different...DH is a night owl and I am an early riser....DH also bar tends so this throws our sleep schedules completely off....although it works out because I like to not have to talk to anyone when I first get up so he is usually sleeping for hours after I am up so it works!! LOL

I can't really 'sleep in' anymore. The dog usually wakes me by 6:15 for a walk and then I usually just lay in bed awake until I decide enough of this and start cleaning the house or go online.
DH can sleep all day long! I think a train could run through the house and not wake him up!
I totally knew about his sleep habits before we were married since we lived together for close to three years.

I will sleep in on any day. He doesn't like to sleep in, though sometimes he does if he is super tired. But sleep in for me is 10/11, for him its 8 or if he was up late the night before drinking then maybe 9, but thats super unlikely.
We knew it going into it. I am a night person, he is a morning person.

I sleep later than DH naturally...he'll wake up around 9-10 and if I'm given the chance I'll sleep till 10:30-11...he has a really bad habit of starting to talk to me when we're in bed and I'm still asleep and wakes me up, I really need to break him of that!

DH's idea of sleeping in is 7:30-8:00 instead of his usual 5:30-6:00. My idea of sleeping in is 9:30-10:00 instead of my usual 6:30-7:00.
We knew this about each other before we were married. I don't have an issue with it usually...except when I'm sleeping and he wakes up and decides to watch TV in bed --- GO DOWNSTAIRS TO THE DEN!!!

He can def sleep more than me - though today I slept until 11:00 which is UNHEARD of - but I'm going to try to enjoy sleeping in bc I imagine once kids happen we won't sleep in again for about 14 years!!

I LOVE sleeping in, as does DH. He can usually sleep until 2 pm if I let him (as I am now--I have to get him up to teach a lesson soon!). Sleeping in is usually 9 am for me, as I normally get up around 4:30-5 am on school days.
DH has sleep apnea, so his sleep schedule can be easily thrown out of whack. At least he doesn't stop breathing in the middle of the night like some apnea sufferers do! This something causes a mild rift, as he'll go to bed much later than I do--and who doesn't like having their husband go to bed at the same time as you? I knew about this going into the marriage, and it's one of the many compromises you learn to love!!!

DH and I both work random hours..but no matter what we always have 1 full day off together.
I am an early riser-we're talking 7:30am is 'sleeping late' for me whereas DH can sleep til 10.
We've been living together since we were dating for 4 months, so we were very well aware.

Both DH and I are early risers. We both knew this before we got married. I think our bodies are just used to getting up early. But we are also early to bed. We are 35 and 34 but sometimes I think that we act much older when it comes to sleep patterns.

I love reading all your answers, and seeing how many people have different schedules than their hubbies but still make it work a-ok!
DH could sleep in until 1 pm on the weekends if I let him... sometimes even if I don't let him. It drives me nuts!!!! I usually get up around 8:30 or 9 no matter what (about an hour later than during the week). I hate 'wasting' the day, so I'm always bugging him about getting up so we can do something!
Lately we've both been sick so we've been keeping strange schedules.
We didn't know this, really, about each other before we got married. Even though we spent a lot of weekends together, we'd usually get up and do things on the weekends so as not to waste our little together time. Now I've come to find out he'd sleep and sleep and sleep.
It's ok, though, just funny!

It depends. I usually get up whenever the dog comes over & starts licking my face. If DH is sleeping in after Flash & I go for a walk & he eats I will snuggle back up in bed. Some weekends DH gets up super early for no reason b/c his body is just wired that way from getting up so early for work. If we get up early on the weekend we usually end up taking a nap later in the day. Before getting married we lived together for 4 years so we knew what we were getting in to.

love to sleep in and most saturdays I sleep until about 9:30, DH works on saturdays so he's gone by 7.I'm a night owl and he's a morning person so on Sundays he's usually up by 8 and not long after that I'm up cause he gets bored and wants me to get up with him. I'm always telling him I wish he would just stay in bed with me and cuddle but he's to antzy (sp) for that and it never happens :) oh well, I did know that before hand.

I generally dont like to sleep in on the weekends... or rather I just cant! DH on the other hand can sleep his arse off! and he is always trying to get me to sleep in and take naps!
Yup, we knew from the get go that we were opposites with the whole sleeping thing... and we make it work...
I will get up early and tidy up... make breakfast... and such... on the off chance he's up before he does the exact same...
