DH NEVER takes out the garbage. Its his ONLY CHORE. I have gone to far as to block the door with the garbage bags. And you know what he does? He moves them to the side & walks out the door. I am at my wits end!
Does anyone else have this issue? We have not spoken ALL DAY today because of this. No joke. We are in a stand off. HUGE fight because he didn't take out the garbage for 3 days!!! So I finally went to go throw it out this morning & I got locked out. He was in the shower for 20 f*cking minutes singing 80's tunes (I could hear his tone deaf a$$ through the window) while I was BANGING & shouting into the windows. I also wound up with sausage & pepper juice down the leg of my new pants. I was FUMING!!!! AND to top it off, he starts yelling that I dripped on the carpet. UM HELLO!!!! If you had taken it out Sunday night when I ASKED YOU then maybe this wouldn't be an issue!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Vent over.

Re: Chores....
DH was well trained by his parents.... he does 1/2 the chores w/o any resistance....
I hate arguing. I simply avoid it. Soooo..... if I were in your situation, I'd simply stop all chores that I do, rather than insisting to make him do his stuff. Lifes too comfy for him, since he knows things will happen if he puts them off. This is pretty severe, though... I mean do literally NO CHORES. No food shopping, cooking, cleaning.... only take care of pets / kids / plants and other innocent bystanders, and pay the bills.
sometimes actions speak louder than words.......

Re: Chores....
DH is pretty good about chores, but he NEVER does dishes. When he uses the blender, he doesn't even rinse it out and just leaves it there to cake on to it. So, similar to the previous post I stopped doing dishes. I just let them accumulate and run out of dishes. Eventually he got it and now does the dishes. He lapses every once in a while, but at his mom's she did all this stuff for him and wouldn't even ask.

Re: Chores....
Hmmmm... Have you guys talked about it???? If you have and it still goes in one ear and out the other he may need a little tough love.
Stop doing your chores, he can do his own laundry, cook his own dinner, etc etc. Maybe he needs a little wake-up call that talking out the trash is not bad when your wife does everything else!!! HTH

Tempting but I don't know that a boycott is the best route for us. We have a baby so I need the house to be CLEAN or I start twitching & getting anxiety

Re: Chores....
DH does the garbage, but only does a 1/2 @$$ job most of the time. He says that he just can't do it, but I find it hard to believe that someone who can rebuild a car's engine, design a website, and supervise people can't take out the garbage.

Re: Chores....
We each have out duties....we had similar conflicts as you do, and one day after an argument we decided that the best way was to define who would do what, and stick to it! This gives me an idea for a new post
and as the other girls said.....I totally agree....if he doesn't change and help you, then YOU GO ON STRIKE.

Re: Chores....
UPDATE:
So I get home last night & I am still FUMING about taking out the garbage, getting my pants dirty, eyc....
As I walk up to the door, there is a SIGN on my door that says 'please take off your shoes.' I roll my eyes thinking his OCD is in full swing. Nope - the guy got Stanley Steamer to come clean all the rugs & carpets yesterday while I was at work. I guess he's out of the doghouse for NOW... but he still needs to start taking out the garbage or else!
