City ladies

Two things
Any one know what roads will be closed or blocked for the Pope?
And two have you ever eaten at The Garage Restaurant or Banc Cafe?

Re: City ladies

I think the Pope is expected to speak at the UN and to say Mass at St Pat's, but I am not sure at what time of day he is doing either.

I would avoid 5th Avenue in the 50's (around St. Pats) and the UN, which is all the way over on the east side. I can't imagine you would be by the UN tomorrow - unless you were visiting the UN - and that's probably not a good idea tomorrow.

Sorry, have not been to either one of those restaurants you mentioned.

Anyway, have fun in the City!

If you do see the Pope, tell him I said Hi.

hi! From what I understand the WHOLE of the eastside is going to be a nightmare with rerouting, detours and street closings. Pope's going to have a midday address to the UN, a meeting at St Patricks, and a mass in the evening in Yorkville. Sooo avoiding the east side is best; Triboro Bridge straight onto the FDR is the way to go if you're heading downtown.

For security reasons they probably won't publish exact information about routes and street closing, but the Daily News traffic site is pretty good, here's a link:
