Re: Cleaning rings
I usually clean mine every 6 months or so. I bought a small jewelry cleaner that you add cleaner to and it vibrates and knocks out the dirt. I also got a baby toothbrush and I clean them with that in addition to letting them soak in the cleaner. They usually come out great!!
The steam cleaning is definitely the best by far though. I might go to Tri-County and get them done there before the end of the year. They always come out looking brand new with that.

Re: Cleaning rings
Fortunoff gave DH a cleaner when he bought my ring.....but I usually bring it there every other month and they clean it for me free of charge! They do such a better job!

I clean mine about once a week.
Hot water mixed with windex . Soak for a minute and brush with a soft baby toothbrush. Works like a charm!

Re: Cleaning rings
green windex and a toothbrush.... then rinse and dry. It takes all of 20 seconds.... and my ring is spotless!
I do that about 3X a week, since I love to see my stone shimmer......

Windex and a tooth brush -- about once a week.
Sometimes I just use dish soap and a toothbrush.

Re: Cleaning rings
I have jewelery cleaner. I clean my rings a few times a month. Actually, I should probably do it again tonight. I'd like to get them, esecially my e-ring, cleaned professionally.

Re: Cleaning rings
LOL this may seem weird. but I live in an old house in amityville. I live on the second floor.. on the bottom floor there is a jewlery store.. I just walk in there to get in professionally cleaned by them for free all the time.. I know that some jewelers do do this for free at times.. but I guess since my landlady is a jeweler I have a slight advantage :)

Re: Cleaning rings
I go to a jeweler in the mall here about once every 2 weeks to have them steam clean it. Unfortunately, I guess I sweat a lot, but my ring never stays clean for more than a day I should try the windex and toothbrush trick.

Re: Cleaning rings
I bring my ring to my jeweler every 3 months and she put my rings to Lye - its a chemical that eats all the dirts away.
