Cleaning Sterling?

Cleaning Sterling?

My DH gave me this GORGEOUS david yurman ring for Christmas! I'm in love with it, but they didn't have my size so he bought it a half size too big. I exchanged it yesterday for one my size, but this new one is oxidized already in the cable! I tried the polishing cloth, but it really didn't do much except turn the cloth black, and I called the store who told me to take it in, but it's all the way in Manhasset and I live in Sayville. Any home remedies for cleaning sterling before I truck myself all the way back there again?! TIA!!

get that silver dip stuff.... as long as there isn't a pourous stone (like a pearl, opal, turquoise), you can just dip it, rinse it and dry it.

You can take it to any jeweler and they can clean it. They probably have to tumble it, I just dropped off a necklace DH gave me that was badly tarnished and thats what they had to do. I only would recommend one jeweler, he is in Bellmore Village (Gennaros) but I dont know if you want to go that far

thanks ladies, and yes, it does have a precious stone so I don't think I can dip it in the stuff I think maybe I'll just bring it back to yurman and have them clean it or switch it out.
