Ammonia! I use that to clean it. I put it in a little strainer and let it soak for a few minutes. Then clean it out with a toothbrush. I also bought one of those inhome steamers WHICH ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! I use it all the time.

Re: cleaning your ring
My jeweler recommended that I use regular old dishwashing liquid with a soft toothbrush. I do it all the time and it really makes my ring sparkle.
TIP: I keep the ring on the finger as I scrub it and rinse it. That way there is no risk of it falling down the drain.

Re: cleaning your ring
I swear by the green windex and a soft toothbrush. my ring is as clean as the day I got it, and constantly get compliments on it's sparkle
As for potential ring loss... I have one of those $3 screens over our kitchen sink drain, which not only prevents the ring from dropping in there, but also bits of food...

Soak it in windex and warm water then clean it with a childrens toothbrush. BUT..the key is to dry it on high with your hairdryer. It makes it sparkle like when the jeweler cleans it.
