I really hate clothes shopping .. but maybe that`s just because I have a hard time finding clothes that fit nicely. Tops aren`t really much of a problem, it`s the pants I have trouble with. I found The Gap`s 'Reverse Fit' jeans very comfortable .. but they don`t make them anymore. And as for pants suitable for work, I`ve really been struggling lately. Can anyone recommend a shop or particular brand of pants?? I`m looking for something cut roomier in the hips and thighs with a slight taper to the ankle.

I feel your pain, Kel! I hate to clothing shop for myself. : (
I am a Banana Republic and J. Crew devotee. I am short, short waisted, have a small waiste, and 'generous' hips, and those stores always have something that flatters me. I especially love Banana's Lindsay and Martin pants, and J. Crew's jeans.

I know this sounds tiny bopperish, but try it. Tommy Hilfiguers jeans are not tight on the thighs. They are wide enough at the top and get thinner at the ankle. My friend reccomended them, I thought she was nuts, but I found she was right. And Macy's carries them and they've been having huge sales. Good Luck.

Liz Claiborne makes a nice pleat-front cotton twill in several shades, khaki, olive, navy and black with some seasonal shades, like pink right now. They are not really tapered at the ankle though.
I think Land's End shows a variety for different figures, with some being more tapered at the ankle.

Also I wear the Classic fit from New york and Company...I love them
you may also fit some mixed pairsin Marshalls or TJ maxx
