That was rude and uncalled for. I don't see the problem with you helping a student. I could see if you taught English and they were asking you a chem question, but it IS in your area. So ridic.

Re: Co-worker Vent
That's horrible!!! Did you ask her why she said this to you? I would have definitely asked and waited as she fumbled for an answer. There is no reason for one chem teacher to say this to another.
Sorry you have to work with a b*tch!

ITA. You should have told her that if she explained correctly and right the first time this student would not have to go to you to ask a question. Some nerve of people.
P.S. I had this with an English teacher in high school. I could not understand her and I along with other students would go to another teacher with ?'s.

Re: Co-worker Vent
That was not nice of her at all. Isn't that what you are supposed to do as a teacher help students. What kind of message would you be giving the student if her turned down her request for help?
Sometimes people at work will say things and not give a second thought about it meanwhile it is very hurtful to the person they said it to. I'm sorry she hurt your feelings.
I have a lot of chem questions you can answer for me. Take out your notes from day 1.

Her comment was totally uncalled for. You did the right thing in helping a student with her questions.

Re: Co-worker Vent
lol...people are SO stupid. it's her own insecurities..the only thing u can do with people like that say with the BIGGEST smile - 'oh sure..i'm so sorry!' and be sweet as pie..'kill 'em with kindness' as my mom always said. if u let her know it pissed u off it'll only feed her power trip...
but ugh to annoying people... hugs & support for ya! try not to let it ruin ur day!

Ugh...there is always one nasty biotch who has to give attitude. You did nothing wrong. I would just ignore her. Sounds like there is some insecurity there. Maybe if she was as helpful and active with the students as you, you wouldn't have to do her job. If you really want to start, just tell her that!
