Companies stealing amateur photos from the internet for professional use
This is a very interesting article in the Washington Post about people who have posted photos of themselves to share with friends and family (and perhaps online forum buddies?). Really well-known companies have been getting in trouble for pulling random pictures off the internet and using them in ads and people are suing. The article is about what rights you have to your photos and when they are 'allowed' to be stolen. What's funny is that it says in a lot of cases, when a company gets caught doing it, they blame an 'intern.'
It's kind of a long article but it's very interesting, esp since there are a lot of gorgeous wedding pics posted on LIW that people would love to get their hands on....and in the context of the awful uses people have made of some of our brides' pics.

Post the article if you can-sounds interesting. Im not worried though; no one ever wnats to use my pics as even Must takes lmao (not that i blame them) so not worried about a photographer wanting em.

This is a very interesting article, and i think its becoming more and more of a problem because the photos people place online really arent restricted or protected from being stolen by another party.
I think people have every right to sue companies and individuals for the use of their photos, copyrighted or not, without their consent.

OMG ...this happened to me!!!! A friend of mine was online I forgot what site but there was a pic of me from a few summers ago....he emailed it to me and was like guess where i got this from...now I never posted this anywhere and the only photo place I order from is Shutterfly so either they are getting it from there or from my computer. my friend said it actually shows me emailing it to like a mass distribution email and he knows I would never do that so that's why he brang it to my attention. It totaly sux and I am so pissed about this.... I have no Idea what to do.
