countertop color- added picture

we are buying our 1st house- i'm so excited!

we have white cabinets and light oak floors in the kitchen. we are changing the countertop- my parents are doing that as our housewarming present and have offered to do it w/ granite. but i don't know what granite would go well w/ the white countertops!

should i go with black? i don't really like the idea of a black and white kitchen. HELP!

i wouldnt do a black one either. i work for a kitchen and bath contractor and i have seen black countertops totally take away from a kitchen. you should go to home depot with a sample of your cabinets like a door or draw front and match it to there countertop samples.

i like the greens and blues with white cabinets and you can always use those colors on the walls and with accent pieces

here are somey favorite marble but keep in mind you will have to go to a granite yard to really get a feel of what the whole slab will look like because its a natural surface and has veins and different colorings in it.

i have even seen gold looked very nice with white cabinets with a woof floor and gold accents

is that 1st granite you posted called uba tuba? i really like that one but don't know how that would go w/ the white cabinets and oak floors. i think i'll go to a granite store or home depot today.

yes it is. i think a green or a blue would look great with your kitchen. you can add accents in those colors to spice things up. kitchens are more brighter and bolder lately. i actually cant wait to get a house so i can design my kitchen lol i already have it drawn out and everything lol just now to find a house lol

I have those cabinets too, my countertops are green, I dont know if something that dark would look good with your beautiful hardwood floors though
