Just thought I would pass this along.

Thank you so much. My friend who failed police academy last year is looking for something like this.

I am going to try out for it. I know I wont pass the written b/c all the other tests I have taken I have failed lol I just $uck at taking tests where I have to sit there and read crap. Hopefully I will get in though and your friend too!!

I'm surprised with the salary. I like the 20 days of paid vacation. I don't even get that with my job. Maybe I should consider this too.

Yeah, the salary isn't too bad. The first 2 years you kind of don't get much, but then after you are appointed you make decent money. I just don't know if the pay raise is the same as it is where I am working now. I am pretty sure it will be though. I think.

I think everyone should consider this. It's great working in the Court system. I really love my job, but if I could have a shot at getting this position , I would be much happier. The pay increase wouldn't be bad either hehe

plus, I GET A GUN!!!!

It doesn't tell you what the salary is for the first 2 years.
Are you working for the courts now?
DH as been dying for me to get a pistol permit. I should really consider this.

It says it on the first page.

Grade JG-14 , $39,771 with annual location pay of $3,697.

Once you have completed 2 years as a trainee, and are appointed you go to Grade JG-18, which is $49,777.

And yes, I work for the courts now. I am Senior Court Office Assistant.

Nevermind, I thought the $39,771 is after you've completed the 2 year traning. I'm a retard, hence, I will not pass the exam. If you're a Senior Court Office Assistant, you are more than qualified.

lol It's okay, I didn't see it at first either. :-P

I am just a secretary, I don't work in the court room, and I certainly don't carry a gun.....yet!

It's good to take the tests regardless, so I am going to put in for it. I have a problem with my heart and blood pressure, so I may not pass physical either..but it's worth a shot!


BTW....Trust me...retards pass the exam...I work with a few of them lol

What court do you work in? MIL is a Court Clerk in Jamaica. She's been with the courts for years and loves her job. I know she's a III or something like that.

a good friend of my brother's is a court officer..she LOVES her job & is always asking if anyone 'wants an in' she makes great money too!

I don't know about top pay but the starting salary for JG 18 is just under $50k. On page 5, it says there is a retire plan but doesn't go into detail of what type it is.
