I used weclean and insured it up to the hilt (figuring if it was lost, I could collect some $$).
Ive heard a few horror stores about J Scheer and I didnt trust it with any local cleaner.

I used j scheer. It just came back this week. The shipping was included (there and back). We were amazed because that must have been $200 given the weight of my dress. We were really happy with it. I think it was $700-800. But my dress was really large and complicated, so most would be less than that.

How do you know it came out ok, did you take it out of the box?

I used wedclean and I had a couture gown.
I did take mine out of the box and inspect the entire thing. It was cleaned perfectly.
I don't think your supposed to take it out of the box, but I plan on making a christening gown out of it in a couple of years.

j scheer suggests you take it out of the box periodically

This is what wedclean's website says -
'Periodic removal and hanging your gown to inspect and 'air out' is recommended.'

They really do a lot to preserve the dress. The removed the hoops and all of the flowers. They then sketch the dress to show where all of the flowers need to go when you put them back on. They called my mom and told her they spent two whole days trying to figure out how to box my dress because of the size.
