Credit Score & history

Does anyone know how getting married affects your credit score?
Like if my DH had bad credit and I have good, will mine get screwed up?

Shouldn't affect you at all...you might just find that when you apply for things like loans, credit cards & a mortgage that either your interest rate is higher or you'd be better off still applying without him on it (on a loan for instance). HTH!

I always thought that your debt became DHs debt and vice versa...like that commercial with the guy singing in her moms basement apartment

yeah, that's also what I thought. I must confess, however, that DH and I have lived together long enough that our credit scores are within 5 points of each other so we didn't have to worry about merging credit histories
