crock pot 911

So i have the crock pot running. i should mention i got this multi cooker... so its s rice cooker, pressure cooker and slow cooker in one..

so i learn at 1pm that the slow cooker only has a LOW setting.. from what i gathered i could do this 4 hours on HIGH or more like 8 hours on LOW... if it was a good old normal slow cooker :(

so i ended up getting a full chicken (its a smaller one) and dumped a bottle of BBQ sauce in and set it for 8 hours...

WHEN DO I KNOW THAT ITS DONE? do i test it?

IS IT POSSIBLE IT WILL BE DONE IN LESS THAN 8 hours?

anyone want to eat at 9pm lol?!?!??! help! i thought this was fool proof!

Re: crock pot 911

8 is usually the max time to cook something... they usually say 6-8 hours... i think it will be done by 6 hours... you should try then and see what it looks like

its bizarre that yours only has 1 setting like that...

im making sausage & peppers today in mine!!!!

Re: crock pot 911

Thanks! I am going to check it at about 6.5 hours and see how were doing....

The pressure cooker part has high and low settings (it cooks rice in like 6 minutes!! I'd try it out if the chicken wasnt already in there UGH) .. but the slow cooker is just one setting grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i already had it out of the box, everything going ... wasnt gonna stop then. (so stubborn)...

Re: crock pot 911

PS have you ever done a whole chicken?

PPS what is your sausage and peppers recipe?? i would use this thing every day as long as i dont fail with the chicken..

There was a slow cooker book misplaced in the kids section at B+N i found while xmas shopping. i should have taken it as a sign and bought it... it has some AMAZING things in there...

Re: crock pot 911

I havent used a whole chicken yet....

10 italian sausage
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 onion
1 jar of tomato sauce or 26oz of homemade sauce...

it came out amazing...

I took the sausages out half way through and i put them in a pan to get them a little crispy (thats the way i love them) and then i cut them up and put them back in....

my god it was so good... i cant wait for leftovers tomorrow lol

ETA: cooked for 4 hours on high... id do six hours on low...
