Cruise or resort?

DH and I are trying to decide where we want to go for our one year anniversary trip.

We went to Sandals St. Lucia last year and loved. Neither of us have ever been on a cruise before so thats also an option.

Which would you prefer?

Re: Cruise or resort?

Jerry and I love cruises! I love that you can go to more than 1 place during your vacaction. Right after we came back from our HM cruise I booked another for May.
I vote for cruises!

Re: Cruise or resort?

Resort all the way!

What about Costa Rica? Or Cabo? Orrrrrrr, my personal fave, MAUI! Perfect mix of so much to do and nothing to do but relax at the same time!

In terms of staying a bit closer, check out Turks and Caicos! DH and I went 2 years ago and it was really special. A totally tropical vibe compared to some of the over-built caribbean.

OR, St. croix!

Ahhhh, I LOVE vacation talk too....

Re: Cruise or resort?

DH and I went on a cruise for our HM. We had an amazing time.

IMO, a cruise is the way to go if you want to see multiple places and are 'activity-type' people. If you're a 'relax-on-the-beach' type of person, and want to stay in just one place, I'd say all-inclusive.

Re: Cruise or resort?

I love cruising, especially with a balcony room! What a beautiful view to wake up to every morning!

I'd say it really depends on what you want this trip to be like. If you want to do a lot of activities, I'd suggest a cruise since you only get a limited amount of time in port you're usually going and going and then relaxing on sea days.

If you wanna just lay on the beach all day, definitely go for the resort.

I vote resort but that is because I got very sea-sick on the only cruise we went on a few years ago.

Re: Cruise or resort?

I love cruises!!! They are SO much fun....so much stuff to do, you get to visit a bunch of different places but never have to move your bags, the food is great, the weather is great....honestly I can't think of anything bad about cruising!

Re: Cruise or resort?

I don't really prefer one over the other. I love them both for different reasons

Cruises I love because I felt like there is always something going on. You get to see different places and explore new things everyday.

the all inclusive which DH and I did also for our HM we loved because we were looking for a more relaxing HM.

I really think it depends on the type of trip you want. More change of atmosphere, nightlife, and adventure. I'd go with the cruise.. more kick back, relax and soak up the sun. I'd say an all inclusive.

HTH

Re: Cruise or resort?

i prefer cruises. we did both resort and cruise for our HM and we got bored at the resort.
i feel you get more bang For your buck with a cruise because you get to see multiple places for one price. And IMO some of the islands are boring so you don’t need a lot of time on them anyway. A cruise is practically all inclusive as well.
p.s. I wanna come

Re: Cruise or resort?

I've never been on a cruise before so I MIGHT say cruise.
It depends on you and DH though. My DH gets motion sickness from everything and i'm scared of being in the open ocean so it's not my 1st 1st choice.

Re: Cruise or resort?

I chose all inclusive resort even though I love cruises. The only thing I don't like about cruises is the bar bill at the end. Last cruise we went on, when we got home our bill was $900 in drinks and souvenirs.

I vote resort! DH & I are not big cruise fans. We've been on a couple and would be content never going on another one lol, just our opinions.

After my mini-moon cruise I think I would rather a resort... or it just could have been 8 days was too long for a first cruise...
