Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

How 'big' did everyone go celebrating the 1st anniversary?

I'm thinking we will do a weekend away and already dreaming about it.....

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

Dh surprised me with a trip to San Antonio, Texas. We were living Corpus Christi, Texas at the time so we woke up early munched on our wedding cake for breakfast and drove up to San Antonio we went Sea World during the day, then checked into our jacuzzi suite overlooking San Antonio and the Alamo and spent the evening on the riverwalk and took a horse drawn carriage. He suprised we with all of it!

We had a great time!

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

We went to Hawaii a few weeks after our actual anniversary. On the day of our anniversary, we went to dinner at the Milleridge where we got married. We will probably do that again this year on our actual date.

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

We weren't planning on going away for ours but we did. Wound up DH had to go to SF for business a couple days before our anniversary - so I went with him and extended our stay and went to Napa for our anniversary weekend. On our anniversary, we went wine tasting in the day and out to a nice dinner at night. Otherwise, we were just planning to stay locally and have a nice dinner probably in the city.

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

shoppie- I just sent you a FM. We went in late October and hit gorgeous weather! It was 80-90 each day - but I believe it was unseasonable. In fact I, had packed for 60 degree weather and had all the wrong clothes with me. Daylight was never an issue - the vineyards all had closing times of like 4-6pm so we had plenty of daytime light.

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

We didn't get there yet, but we are taking a cruise for our 1 year anniversary next may. We have to drive down to Florida for a wedding, so we are going to take some extra time and cruise for our anniversary. For the actual one year anniversary, we are going to go out to dinner!!

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

I dont know if we'll be able to go away, but Im going to check on how much it would cost for us to eat dinner in the room we had our reception at ( if there is no wedding), and then we can stay at the same hotel.

Re: Curious how everyone celebrated 1st anniversay

His gift to me was two dozen white roses. We had dinner at a nice restaurant. After dinner we ate our cake (which was very good even a year later) while we watched our video.
