I don't have one but I did years ago. Very sweet dog. Very obedient. Not hyper. Very loyal. BUT They do bark a lot & she was kind of snippy to other dogs & strangers.

My sister has one. He's the cutest little thing and he's VERY playful. Never wants to sit still. He does bark a lot too and he likes to jump up onto the sofa or bed, which he really shouldn't be doing b/c dachshunds tend to have back problems. But I think if you train it, you won't have that problem. Very very lovable! Go for it!!

I want one so badly, just know that they do have back and hip problems because of their long body and short legs.

i have a mini doxie. he is great. very sweet and loveable dog after he gets used to you. my sister has a mini doxie also. i believe mine was abused before i got him so he is sketchy (and growls) of a lot of people.
i do know that they have hip and back problems.
eta: mine does not bark at all at our apartment. we trained him not to due to landlord rules.

My sil has 3 of them. They are cute dogs. They are pretty well behaved, and the good thing is if they are short haired they don't shed much.

I have one I loveeeee him. He is the best dog, great temper, loves people once he gets to know them. He does jump on the couch but I can't seem to get him to stop. He actually lost weight he was 20lbs he is down 5 lbs now and he is crazy hyper haha but it's cute.
He does bark a lot but he is so friendly and just an all around great dog. I would get another one if I could.

i have a mini, and he is such a great dog, he's 3 now. these dogs have wonderful almost people-like personalities, very loveable, and very loyal. he can be very playful, but also just really likes to curl up and sleep on you. he is a great snuggler, they love to burrow in your bed, and sleep. just make sure you arent inheriting a doxie with back problems.
