Did anyone feel really depressed the next day and sad?? We didnt leave for our HM until Mon (our wedding was sat night) and I couldnt help myself from crying at the drop of a dime! Not that I wasnt happy to be married but just the whole accumulation of everything for the wedding all the planning and then thats it...and missing my parents. Are these feelings normal..do they get better? I feel better already but was wondering if anyone else felt that. I do luv my hubby though :)

Re: Day after wedding blues
im sure your feelings are normal. everyone is different. you were coming off a high of excitement. you also put in so much time and energy for something that is one day and its over (the even t not the marriage of course). I woudlnt stress about it especially if you are feeling better now. enjoy your honeymoon!

Yes I was very sad because it was all this excitement and so much work leading up to a day that flew by...and then nothing to plan or work towards. It's like post-partum wedding blues. It's normal and it will pass tho

I had a minor case of that. It is very normal. But you will soon get over it and actually be quite relieved that it is all over & you will have time to get back to enjoying normal life.

I was very depressed. I didnt tell my DH but I was so sad too. And yes it was weird cause I was so happy to be married and had a wonderful wedding, couldnt have asked for anything better but I know it was the fact that my whole family was together and then the next day I had to say goodbye to so many of them, and i just wished i could have stayed in that moment forever!

Re: Day after wedding blues
It is very normal...I was also depressed the next and was crying...it was really hard because i lived with my parents and waited to get married to live with my husband. I just felt bad for my mom being alone (my sister lives in vegas and dad works late hours) and I imagined her eating dinner alone it bothered me so much. But i live 15 mins away and we see each other a few times a week.
After 9 months of being married I am used to everything and adjusted to things. It was such a culture shock having soooooo many responsibliles, but now i love every minute of it.
So just hang in there you should be fine in a week and in a couple of months you will ket adjusted to your new life...visit your parents if your upset it really helps alot....see your not alone lol...

Thank you everyone! I feel better knowing that i am not alone in it. I am only 20 min away from my parents so I will visit a lot and I am already starting to adjust. I am starting to get back into the normal swing of things! It was just such a great day and I will have so many wonderful memories I am grateful for

Re: Day after wedding blues
I was actually looking for a post just like this. I got married 2 weeks ago and I happy that I am married and I love my husband I have been with him for 6 years but I am so sad that it is all over with. I can’t believe that there is no more wedding that I will never wear my wedding dress again. The other day I was in Walgreens and walked passed the bridal magazines and started to cry because I wasn’t a bride anymore. I was like what is wrong with me. I was wondering if I was the only one feeling this way.
I think my other problem is that I realized how much I missed being around my friends and family they were with us the entire weekend and they all live in another state. After talking about this with my new husband we both feel the same way and we decided that we need to be back with them so we are going to move back to were we belong with our friends and family.

Re: Day after wedding blues
I'm sure that's completely normal. I was so happy to be a married woman that following morning. However, there was still a bit of sadness in me - but not because the wedding was over. I was sad because i knew that nothing would be the same. In only a matter of days I would be leaving home and moving far away from my family and EVERYTHING I know and love. That's what was hard for me. All those months of engagement I had been so excited to marry DH and yet sad to be leaving everybody else. It was bitter/sweet. I definitely admitted to Dh that I missed my mother the following morning. lol. We hung out with my family the entire next couple of days before we left. So I understand what you're saying about feeling a little sad, even with being as happy as you are.

Re: Day after wedding blues
I had the after wedding blues. A friend warned me that might happen. I was fine until our honeymoon was over, and we were home. I was still super excited to be married, but just sad that it was all over. All that planning, taking up so much time, and it was gone in a flash. My day was perfect, my honeymoon was amazing, it was just sad. It was too funny now looking back. I was just hanging around the house in sweats watching movies. DH went to the gym and on his way home stopped and bought me a dozen roses, and this cute little plaque to hang in our house. He told me to stopped being sad about what was over, because we had so much to look forward to.

I think that it is because it is over!! You work hard and plan so much... and then the day passes. It is weird.
I am now happy the planning is over. I have done so much since my wedding and SAVED money!!! So that is even better!!!

Re: Day after wedding blues
I do have to say as we approach six months married that I am glad it is over. It is nice to have free time. Just being able to sit and watch tv without having to do anything wedding related is great. I do think I am putting off picking my album, and getting my dressed cleaned because that is like that last of it.

Some people get like that. Others like myself were extremely RELIEVED! I couldn't wait for the whirlwind planning life to END!

I too felt that way! But I don't think it really hit me until I returned from my honeymoon!!!! Its totally normal. You spend so much time planning and you have such a natural high that day and then after its over you do feel a little down! But trust me it will pass!! I'm very happy now!! I love being married and don't miss the planning one bit! I'm actually relieved that its all over with!
