Debbie.... Re: 1st Anniversary!

Can you believe how fast time is going?!

We had booked Montauk Manor for the 6th and 7th but actually had to cancel last week because we have to go to a family party on the 6th!!

Sooooo, we're going to dinner at 'One if by Land, Two if by Sea' on Monday night and we're still trying to come up w/ something else to do!! I know we're going to a show on the 17th (my bday - I'll act surprised! ) so that's out.

What are your plans??

Hi Kathi! I want to apologize for not getting back to you, but I was out all last week and do not have a computer at home!

As for our anniversary, at first we were going to go away the week after to Salem, but our plans have changed. I think we're having our families over for dinner the night before and the day of we're going to Little Italy (which is where we met, actually it'll be 4 years on 9/18, at the San Gennaro Feast) and have dinner.

I can't believe it's almost a year already! It's been a wonderful year and after last week, my marriage is stronger then it ever was!

Do you have your cake in the freezer??? I'm really looking forward to eating it!! I only had a smidgen at the wedding!! Yum!!

Wow... I still can't believe it's a year already.

What are you getting Steve for your anniversary? I have no clue what to get Joe -- he's not the easiest to buy for since he doesn't wear any watches and will only wear silver jewelry. We were going to go away, but I'm not in the mood (although it probably would be the best thing for me) or I was going to get him tickets for a play, but again -- no mood (I'm still attending my very own pity party, don't mind me).

As for the cake, our friends just celebrated their first and she said the cake was delicious!! No freezer burn. I hope I can say the same. I can't even remember what our cake tasted like!

I'm getting him Yankee playoff tix ((paper ) and a white gold wedding band. He has a plat comfort fit to match mine, but he's wanted a white gold one because he's beating up the plat one!

You really should go away, even if it's just a day or two. Maybe it will help you feel better? What does Joe want to do? Do you have any ideas for his gift?

Steve is going to be annoyed that I got him anything at all. What agreement? What house? LOL I'm really bad when it comes to the 'we said no gifts' rule. Sigh. Hee Hee!

BTW, we went to the feast last night and it was crazy down there!! Yikes, way too many people!! We had dinner and made a run for it! Maybe it's because I'm so old.... Ahhhhh...

We went to the feast on Wed (the anniversary of the day we met) and it was crazy also! I did win a goldfish -- we named him 'Chooch' -- that made me happy. He wants to go back tomorrow, we'll see how the weather is. And it is totally like a sardine can over there! It gets you very claustrophobic over there and you end up walking on the sidewalk behind the stands!!!!

Speaking of goldfish -- we went w/our best friends (who we both grew up w/and ended up meeting the same night and they got married the month before us -- confused?) and they had won 2 goldfish a couple of nights before. So they asked us to 'fishsit' since they left for Florida today. Well, this morning Joe wakes me up when he was leaving for work to say 'one of their fish is floating at the bottom of the bowl'!!!!!! Now, I'm half-asleep and tell him 'it's sleeping' and he says 'fish don't sleep'. So I get up later and look, and lo and behold the **** thing is DEAD!!!! And the best part is, our friends are still in the neighborhood and haven't even gotten on the plane. Last night he told us that if they die, go out and buy new ones before they come home because my friend will be heartbroken!!! Can you imagine? Oh the nerves with this whole soap opera!!! I'm never fishsitting again!!!!! I guess Bada (or was it Bing) didn't like our house!!!!

As for Joe's gift, he told me that we don't need to give gifts, we'll do something. Not for nothing, but who wants to listen to that, especially for our FIRST anniversary! We'll go to dinner in Little Italy and spend the day doing something. I'm so not into the planning and I'm the planner, so who knows what I'll come up with!!!
