Decided on my album pics today....

...wow, how mentally draining that was! DH and I were at the studio for over 3 1/2 hrs, and upgraded our album from the 50 contracted pics to 80! The extra 30 killed us, but I had to have them. Even the woman helping us said we couldn't not have them all (We had church, castle, beach and reception pics - all of which came out fabulous) they had to all be included to show how beautiful the day was

We also included about 10 composite pages, so that jacked up the price too. Including all the enlargements for ourselves and family, we spent a small fortune there. We both figured, we've spent this much, why cheap out now?! I just wish we thought more about this during the booking - we would have negotiated a larger package.

The enlargements will be ready in about 3 months, but the album not for 6-8 months I can't wait to see the album - it's going to be gorgeous!!

Now I have to shop around for some 8x10 matting and frame combinations - I want to save some $$ and do them myself

Wow, Teri...sounds expensive! That is why I always recommend to the brides to contract for more than you think you will need b/c my photographer told us it is cheaper that way. It always costs more to add on, but costs nothing to use less. And since you don't pay final balances until you pick up the final product, you don't lose any money either.

Well....anyway - sounds like you're super happy and that's what counts! I'm so excited for you. We just picked up our finished album today!

Congrats Terri, I got ours yesterday and every extra page and every composite was so worth it. I am sure it will be worth it for you too

Thanks everyone - yes, it was pretty stressful, since I knew I, along with many others, will be looking at this book for a long, long time! LOL

I'm really happy with our choices though

Congrats to you. I spend all night with my mom picking her pictures and ten tonight DH and I have to pick ours...we have our appointment on Wednesday night.

Hey Teri ... that's wonderful news. Such a relief when you walk out of the photographers. We spent a little under 4 hours with our photographer too.

Niecey - my suggestion is to be patient! LOL I had been narrowing down the pics for our album for weeks. I could only handle it in small doses or I'd get too frustrated or lose my motivation. But slowly, I started making progress and narrowed them down to 140 proofs, some of which were duplicates, but I couldn't choose which was better. That's when the studio staff helped us finalize the pics. It just takes a lot of time and patience

Cira - I booked the appt for 3 hrs, figuring we'd be out in 2 1/2 or so - little did I know we'd take THAT much time! LOL It's so worth it though....
