I have a very small living room with one window which doesnt give off much sunlight and is also partially covered by my entertainment center...I like the country look and I stink at decorating. I would like to try to 'open' up the room as much as possible but still have the country feeling. Do any of you ladies have any color ideas? I am just do bad at this! I was thinking two different colors. Thanks so much in advance!

Do you live in an apartment in NYC? I know how difficult that can be to open up....I live in a one br in the city...and i also LOVE the country look (actually more antique)
What I've seen that i really like is what looks like a window (very country-like, sometimes stenciled) and instead of glass, it's a mirror. It even has like a windowsill that you can put little decorative things on. Our cousins have one hanging on their wall and it's really beautiful. I'm not sure where you can get one, and I probably don't do it justice describing it.... but that's my idea for you.

I have a similiar problem in my living room (just two windows on one front wall b/c my house is attached on both sides).
Without seeing a photo I would suggest moving the entertainment center to anyplace EXCEPT in front of the window. Not only does it block the light but it doesnt make a lot of design sense.
