Decorating question

Decorating question

So, DH and I went to Ikea last night and bought some plain pine cabinets to put in our living room for extra storage. We have to finish them ourselves. I'm trying to decide what would look best. Am wondering if I should paint them light tan to match the walls or if I should stain them black to match the other furniture in the room. Am thinking that the light color might make the room look bigger but the black would match the rest of the room better.

Please let me know what you think!

Definately black... If you do them the same color as the wall, they will disappear

Agreed....you want them to pop, not blend in.

Agred-black will make them pop and they will always be easier to incoirporate. if you want to brightem them up, use acecssories that pop. Like baskets on top with colorful glass balls inside, colorful vases etc.

i agree go with black. I wish I could paint some people I know the same color as the wall make them disappear too.

I think black to match the rest of your furniture. My living room walls are a light beige color and all of our furniture is dark and I love the contrast.
