Defensive Driving Courses?

Defensive Driving Courses?

Dh and I need to take another defensive driving course since our last one was over 3 years ago. Do any of you know of a good place to go that offers it on a weeknight? And we want to go just one night .. so if anyone knows of a place that calls it a 2 night course but doesn't make you go back for the 2nd, that's where we want to go I know a lot of them do that.

Thanks!

I dont know of any that do it at night time (one class). Usually its a weekend since its like 324823426 hours long
Ugh those classes are so painful

You can call up your insurance co. and they can give you places.

My mom used to go to someone that did it in 2 nights, but she never made you go back for the second night. I think she may not be offering the class anymore.

I could call insurance but I was hoping to get a recommendation from someone who went to someone they liked. I will call insurance if no one has any ideas, thanks.

The place itself signs off on it so theres no way of finding out. Nobody i know ever got caught. This place honestly, they hated doing it too bc think about, its 5 hours of their time too lol. So if people came in they just gave them the certificate, of course you pay for it lol.

I went in thinking i had to do it and they said no dont worry lol

I usually go to an all day one on Sunday at AAA in Garden City. Sometimes they give you the option of cutting out lunch and leaving an hour early. I'd much rather get it over with in one day.

Just wanted to mention that online defensive driving classes are supposed to be coming to NY relatively shortly! I will keep you posted.

try asking your ins. agent...they sometimes offer classes at a discounted rate!

REALLY??? Oh that would be SO awesome. Unfortunately, mine's up now and I am getting a new ins. company in January, and they will need to see the certificate .. so I need to take one in Dec. or Jan. But hopefully this will be the last time!

There is a company that offers it in NY - it's not approved for points reduction, it sounds like, but they told me to check with the insurance co. to see if it would work for the $$ reduction. I am switching to a new company so I just emailed the agent to see if they would accept it.

Here's the link:

Neither of us have points on our licenses so the $$ is all we care about.
