Ok for all of you 07ers (and proir)... how did you defrost your cake and did it taste good? How long ahead should I take it out?? TIA!

some ladies said they defrosted their cake in the fridge for 2-3 days before the anniversary.
DH and i just took the cake out in the morning----left it in the fridge all day and then we took it out of the fridge and left it on the counter to finish defrosting while we were at dinner. it tasted pretty good

thanks! we have to go and pick it up an hour away at my mom's so it will be out for a while anyway. Maybe we'll use a cooler!
