we just did; left it in the fridge for a day then took it out for about an hour then ate it. it was decent, not great. the pudding filling held up the best!

Re: Defrosting cake for anniversary???

I have to say this attempt will be very scary I have a couple more months to do this.. I herd from past brides it is usually discusting.

I had a second cake made later (long story) and we just ate it right after so I know what the cake tasted like anyway - now I have something to compare it to.

Honestly - Even my planner told me just EAT the CAKE don't save it - it is usually NASTY and does not fair well. Please let us know how it turns out - curious Yet to hear a NW say it was great

If you want to defrost it, leave it fully wrapped and put it in the fridge to defrost. Take it out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you want to eat it, unwrap it and let it sit on the counter to come to room temp.

We ate ours after we came back from our honeymoon because we never got to eat cake at the wedding.
