I am currently working on becoming licensed. I believe starting is around 30,000 or so...depending if you have your masters or not.

Well in schools it depends on the district or if you are in NYC. There payscale is similar to teachers (both my cousins are speech pathologists) I am a guidance counselor and my scale is a little higher then a teacher...I think in most districts and NYC this is the same for speech pathologists. Also your masters is 60 credits so you start with your 30 over (more $$ right there lol) starting salary in NYC with your masters would be around 57,000 for a Guidance Counselor so it will probably be that give or take a couple thousand (I cant find the speech pay scale so maybe they are on the same scale as teachers) HTH

You would keep your time and jump in salary I think...I know if you become an adminstrator you do not....but I think for UFT positions what I said applies HTH
