Destination Weddings-Another question

What is an appropriate gift if DH & I fly to St. Lucia in December for a friends wedding, and the airfare is not cheap, nor is the hotel!!

Re: Destination Weddings-Another question

I think what you can afford is always appropriate.

I am sure it is more important to the bride and groom that you are there vs. what you give them.
They are aware of the expense you will incur and would appreciate any gift - even if it's your presence instead of presents.

Re: Destination Weddings-Another question

Jenn, I think the gift would be the same ($100-$150 per person or even more if you feel appropriately). If I had to go to a wedding like that, I would plan a vacation around it, and this way the cost would be absorbed in 'vacation' budget, not wedding budget. Does that make sense?
