Developing Pictures

Can anyone recommend a good place to bring film for developing? Over the years, I have been very dissatisfied with so many places. Motophoto often seemed to ruin my pictures in some way or another. I haven't really been impressed with CVS, and don't really know just how much I trust them, though I've never had anything happen. I did try Cameta Camera, figuring that a camera shop should be able to develop pictures well. While I have no complaints with the developing process at Cameta (they did our table cameras from the wedding), I had a big problem with a technician's attitude regarding a reprint they were making for me .. she just couldn't seem to get a grasp on what I was asking her to do .. lighten it and zoom in.

So, anyway, now I have some very important photos that I would like to bring somewhere with confidence. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No suggestions Kel, but I have 5 undeveloped rolls waiting, so I'm also interested in hearing answers to your question.

I love Costco (Price Club) one hour photo. The one is Westbury uses Fuji paper rather than Kodak. I tend to like the Fuji photos rather than Kodak and since I only use Fuji film I am usually very happy.

The price is usually around $10 for doubles or $6 for single prints.

FYI - DH insists we do the one hour b/c otherwise they send the film out and he says there's always the risk of the film getting lost.

Honestly, I think I'd be a little leary about going to a place like Costco, too. But, I also agree with your husband about film being sent out .. that's why I'm looking for a place that specializes in film processing on site.

Suzanne, I'll look into the place in Malverne .. it's on my way to work, and my husband's old neighborhood! Thanks for the recommendation.

Anyone have any others they'd like to share
