DH and dates

The other night DH (Bobby) my brother (Robert) and I were in the car. A song came on the radio and Bobby started telling Robert the date the song was released as a single.

Bobby described with great detail how he waited outside the store at midnight to get the single. He talked about who he was with, where they were, what he was wearing and what he had for dinner that night. Bobby described this day like it was the best thing that ever happened to him in his whole life and how everytime he hears the song he is taken back to this day.

I asked Bobby the date we started dating.............SILENCE

Does your DH know your dates?

Mine knows them - I was the one who forgot our engagement anniversary (but only for a minute!)

im suprised but he knows them!!

He doesn't know any dates, he just cannot retain this kind of information, its slips out of his brain.

My SISTER however, is like your Bobby and ALWAYS remembers dates, including what she was wearing and the weather. I find this very funny and call her RainMan (I usually walk away mumbling 'Wapner. 4 o'clock gotta watch Wapner.' or 'Iris is very sparkly, very sparkly).

Do tell, what was this life-changing song??? My money's on Sussudio...

Cat, that's so funny. My DH isn't good with dates at all-our 2 year dating anniversary (this time around) is coming up but doubt he'll remember. But he will always remember our wedding anniversary because it's my birthday!!

YEP he is good. Makes fun of me because I have swiss cheese for memory cells. He remembers our first date, our first kiss, ...he's SUCH a girl

no way! he remembers when we first met b/c it was a Friday the 13th in October, pretty easy........then again, we don't really make a big to-do about anniversaries, so I guess that doesn't help him remember them since we usually end up sitting home and staring at each other anyway let's see if he can nail down the wedding anniversary TBD!!

just the big one, but even then..i think he pulls off his ring to peak at the engraved dates im the one who remembers the first day we met, kissed, etc..of course. he remembers the day he proposed tho.

bobby does not remember any dates of any importance at all. When we met, when we got engaged, when he graduated he just has a general idea of when they took place. I think this song release date is the only date he knows. I think he remembers it because it involved KFC

I’m sorry but it was not that Phil Collins classic or against All Odds. The song was
Oasis-D'you Know What I Mean? but don't we all know the release date of this life changing song.

DH is very good with dates, but neither of us can remember when we became friends, it was 11 years ago! He surprised me with flowers on the anniversary of our engagment, which slipped my mind. His card was cute, it read 'Best decision I ever made!'
