Dh fell today!

Dh fell today!

We have a dirt driveway that is long and early this morning was still covered in ice. DH had surgery on his shoulder two weeks ago and started back to work Thur (he works the weekends). He always gets my paper at the end of the driveway for me. On his way back, he slipped and fell into the car before hitting the ground. I feel so guilty. He slipped yesterday but didn't fall getting the paper and I told him not to bother, that I would get it. He has an appmt anyway with the surgeon tomorrow but I am worried how he is gonna feel tomorrow morning. He has no sick time left, that is why he already went back to work. We don't get disability working for the state.

OMG, so sorry!!! I had shoulder surgery last year and I was in a LOT of pain for quite a long time after the surgery (wore a brace for 2 months!) so I can only imagine how he feels after falling on it! Definitely ice it, make sure he takes his vicodin (or whatever pain meds they gave him) every 4 hours or however indicated!! If they're not helping, have him call the dr. to call in a stronger Rx!

Don't feel guilty, just take care of him.

Yes he does, his weekend is Tues Wed. I am really worried because that is how I tore my meniscus last winter.

Thanks. I am so glad most of the driveway melted today with the gorgeous weather. The driver's side where you get out the car is very icy still. He is taking percocet but drove to work today so he could only take 1 when he got there and 1 at 11am then had to wait until he got home so he wasn't DUI. He was still in quite a bit of pain before this. I hope it doesn't stiffen and get worse tomorrow. We work together, so I can drive and he can take all the meds he needs.

Re: Dh fell today!

DH saw the dr today and they took an xray. He doesn't see anything wrong thankfully. DH is to stop Physical Therapy for a week and was given and anti inflammatory and stronger pain meds. It is a set back but luckily nothing more. The driveway is still slipery on the driver's side of the car, I slipped myself today. After returning to work from taking him to the dr, I noticed a big dent on the hood of my 4 month old car! that is where he fell into the car. I am so upset about that, but not mad at him. It shows how hard he must of it though, on the surgical side of course.

Thank you. He said that he is actually feeling really good today and it is the first day he hasn't taken pain meds!! Maybe the anti inflammatory is helping...
