DH had to remove his appendix last night...UPDATE!

aw hope he gets better quick!
Be glad he got it removed, a friend of mine had his appendix burst and the ER sent him home b/c his was also behind is liver and they couldnt see it. He now had plenty of health problems

that DH can come home ASAP

Ive been camped out at the hospital for the past day and a half. We got to the ER at 5:30 AM yesterday morning and he finally got his own room after 6PM. Then he had the surgery at around 9. Stupid effin hospital wont let more than 2 people upstairs even though IM his wife. Its so annoying. I shouldnt count as a person. I should automatically be allowed in there. And he has his OWN room so its not like were bothering anyone. Anyway, he's doing fine. Just in a lot of pain. Apparently he had a one in a million rarity. His appendix was up behind his liver when theyre supposed to be all the way in the lower part of the stomach and it was 5 times the normal size! I told him he ALWAYS has to be difficult. Cant wait til he can come home with me

UPDATE: WERE HOME!!! Im so glad I dont have to leave him at that hospital anymore! I never felt so empty coming home ALONE last night. I wanted to cry. I wouldnt have left if there was a bed for me. Poor DH was trying to get me to lay on the bed with him even after his surgery. After 22 hours there I had to go home and SLEEP! Anyway I feel so better now that he's here. I gotta play nurse now

Wow Peg! I cant believe your friend had the same thing! We took pics home anyone wanna see??!! Its so gross yet fascinating at the same time. Thats terrible that they sent him home. I was confused because they gave DH cat scans and thats how they determined it was appendicitis but the doc who took the cat scans never told us where it was The surgeon told us AFTER the surgery. Im still really confused about it.

The surgeon said if his liver had been where it was supposed to be, it would have erupted. Thats how bad the inflammation was. But because it was up there lodged behind the liver, it didnt.
