Did any of you guys...

Get thank you notes from your GUESTS?

I've received all these little thank you cards and notes from some of our guests, thanking us for letting them share our day.
Some guests even wrote cards out to my parents for me to forward.
Meanwhile, I haven't even started thinking about TYs.
DH says it's common in Britian to send thank yous the other way around. He actually said that most people were pleasantly surprised that they received thank you's at all for giving us wedding gifts (to those that we wrote out early) isn't that strange?

I received a few notes from family members, complimenting me on all my hard work with planning! My mom got a ton of phone calls within the few weeks after our wedding too....but only from close friends and family.

As for the Brits, I guess they felt honored to be invited to your wonderful bash!!

Really?

We got emails and phone calls and verbal thank yous but definitely no written ones. That is very sweet.

Susan - I just finished my own Thank Yous (etiqutte police had a warrant out for my arrest!)...I was just NOT in the mood to write them for soooo long. Honestly, it was the worst task of the whole wedding!

We got a few from really close friends and out of town guests ... especially when they sent pictures to us ... they added the kind words!

We got phonecalls and emails too ... my parents got a lot of the calls!

It's a great feeling ... enjoy!

We got verbal and some in email but no nice little notes. It is a great feeling that people took the time to say, they had fun and noticed all the things you did etc etc.

We got a handful, almost all of them mentioned our ceremony & how we included our kids. Some complimented our music choices. I was really suprised when we got home from our trip we had 3 in our mailbox, the rest trickled in later & my Mom got one from her 86 year old godfather saying it was the most fun he's had in years!!!! I was totally thrilled & impressed and I plan to do the same for the next special wedding I attend.

We got one really nice thank-you from DH's cousin.
We had a lot of people tell us they had such a great time and that everything was great.

We mostly got phone calls and emails, but we did get a handfull of written thank you's. We even got flowers as a thank you from a friend of my mom.

We got a couple of thank you cards. There were some waiting for us when we got back from our honeymoon! I was surprised to get tys from our guests!!

I'll also keep this in mind...next time I attend an occasion that strikes me as special, I'll definitely send a thank you. Play it forward!

We didnt get Thank You's just a lot of compliments about the day, and especially the food, and how much fun they had.

Thanks 1/4 of the top tier is in my freezer BEGGING me to eat it today, and to hell with one year!

This thread is making me feel like: 'what was wrong with my wedding that no one sent me a card?' I know - very riddiculous but Im so surprised everyone else got actual thank you cards!
