Did anybody else not get the top of their wedding cake?

I totally didn't even think of this on the day of the wedding. My hall never even offered to give us the top of the cake that night either. Did this happen to anyone else? If it's normal to get the top of the cake, and I didn't, then I want my cake dammit! It was really good!

Our hall boxed it up for us. My family ate it the next day. My baker sends us a free cake for our one year, so he said not to bother freezing it. He wants us to have a fresh one.

My parents left mine on the kitchen table for over a day and the mousse went bad. To tell you the truth, I'd rather have a fresh one anyway.

They gave it to us but we trashed it after the honeymoon. I just didnt think i would want to eat year old cake.

Im glad we trashed it b/c the blackout would have ruined it anyway.

We got ours, but it didn't fit in the fridge back at the hotel and by the next day it reeked, so we had to chuck it!! I'll go buy us one for our one year anniversary!!

Floral Terrace put it in a box for us and gave it to our parents. If it weren't for them doing that we wouldn't have had it. I would have totally forgotten.
