i'm watching it right now on dvr and totally crying. as somebody who has been overweight for most of my life, i can identify with these kids on some level. it is so sad to see how many of them think of killing themselves because of their weight. sometimes oprah annoys me but right now i'm sooooo glad she is doing a show on this topic! i really hope all the kids can now get the help they need.

Re: did anybody see today's Oprah?
I didn't see it but my heart goes out to those kids. So much emphasis is put on weight in our society, esp women's weight, which leads to eating disorders (including overeating, anorexia, bulimia) and a lot of other problems...while at the same time, every other commercial is for a new food guaranteed to make you put on weight. It's such a Catch-22

you are so right. it looks like tomorrow is part 2 and dr. oz is going to be on talking about how bad the food is in school cafeteria's. it's a shame the food that is served to kids in school. even if they are taught good choice at home, they could totally go to school and eat a bunch of fattening junk

OMG so true!!! I am a teacher and I cringe when I read the menus that the kids get each month (just like when we were kids lol)...and what makes it worse is they also can buy Snapple and sweetened ice tea and cookies also. The one thing I have noticed though is that they now sell salads and use WW bread for the sandwiches (and hotdogs ). Well I guess the wheels of change turn slowly huh? I will try to watch O tomorrow
